BY now, you would have known whether you are eligible to apply for the upcoming IBPS specialist officer common exam 2014.Now take a look at the how specialist officer jobs were created in the previous CWE.
If you had completed BE/ BTech/ MBA/M CA degree & wishing to register for the IBPS specialist officers common written exam, its important to known about the previous results.
How many specialist Officer vacancies?
Inorder to provide a clear picture, we have compiled the number of vacancies for candidates qualified in the IBPS specialist officer exam 2014.
As you can see from the image above, 4321 vacancies were created under specialist officer (scale I) cadre. Of which
- Agriculture field officer ranked no.1 with maximum jobs – 3557
- Marketing officer had 450+ openings
- IT officer requirement was at 299
Will banks recruit in similar nos. for 2015-16 cannot be predicted at this moment.
No more IT officers?
We are receiving numerous enquiries from BE/ Btech graduates asking if they are eligible to apply for IT officer position. But only 299 jobs were available in 10 govt. banks last year.
Many public banks outsource their IT needs to top multinational companies under a contract which includes supplying & providing maintenance of hardware & software.
Hence we believe PSB`s are not very much interested in recruiting large no. of IT officers. With public sector banks looking to open more branches in rural areas, the demand for agriculture officers is on the rise. This trend is expected to following for the next few years with both the PSB`s & govt. of India aiming to open one bank account per household.
Previous Year Cutoff Scores:
Just like the PO & clerk exams, IBPS also releases cutoff scores for specialist officer exams.
The cutoffs are a total of your combined scores in written exam & personal interview (out of 100)
